Great news from Antioch Police Chief Allan Cantando as he posted today via social media that a 15-year old teenage boy has been booked in Juvenile Hall on charges of assault and robbery for a recent attack of an 83-year old man.

As a follow-up to my last post, I would like to let you know that yesterday afternoon Antioch Police detectives arrested a local teenager for the recent attack of an 83-year old man. The teen was booked into Juvenile Hall on charges of felony assault and robbery, and the case will soon be forwarded to the District Attorney’s office. I would like to thank everyone who shared this story on social media, talked about it to their friends and family, and made this arrest possible.

I am proud of the men and women of this department, proud of everyone in the community working to make Antioch a safer place to live, work, shop, and play, and lastly, proud to serve as your Chief of Police.

Sincerely,

Chief Allan Cantando

Thank you everyone who helped make this possible by sharing the photograph via social media and spreading the word. In speaking to Chief Cantando yesterday, we was very complimentary of the community and their assistance on this case.

He reiterated to me to say thank you to everyone.

I’m confused.. Wasn’t the old man shot in the head?? I thought that was stated on your original post. If he shot the man why is it not attempted murder???

The original report stated he had been shot based off the radio which did not turn out to be the case. Our original report was in real-time based off scanners and not an official report.
