Ceasefire Warrants Served Across the Bay Area, Including Antioch

Oakland, CA — In the early morning hours of Tuesday, November 24, 2015, the Oakland Police Department Ceasefire Team and 14 Bay Area law enforcement agencies served 20 search warrants.

Oakland-Operation-CeasefireFourteen warrants were served in Oakland. Other warrants were served in Antioch, Dublin, Sacramento, San Lorenzo, Stockton, and Tracy. The warrants were issued for crimes such as double homicide (September 2015), shooting, robbery, and weapons violations.

This morning’s arrests culminate an operation that started in early October.
• To date, 30 arrests have been made (18 this morning)
• To date, 25 guns have been recovered (7 this morning)

Hundreds of officers from neighboring law enforcement agencies participated in the warrant sweep. Police departments involved included Alameda, Antioch (Rockrose Ct.), Berkeley, Concord, Fremont, San Ramon, Stockton, and Union City/Newark. The Sacramento Sheriff’s offices and the East County Tactical Operations Team (Pleasanton and Livermore) also participated. Other participating agencies included the U.S. Marshals, Federal Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency, and Oakland Housing Authority.
