Although full details have not yet been made available by the Antioch Police Department, here is what we gathered about an auto theft incident shortly after 4:30 pm where police tracked the suspect to the backyard of a home on Fairside Way.
- A white F150 work truck was stolen (a gardener’s vehicle)
- It’s confirmed that the incident did cause one accident on Lone Tree Way and Vista Grande
- A second auto accident may have also occurred as the suspect tried to get away.
- Police began conducting a search of the neighborhoods and apartments between Vista Grande and Lowes Shopping Center.
By roughly 4:50, the subject was tracked to the backyard of a home on Fairside Way where Police used their K9 to track the subject. Police confirmed they found the subject and AMR was called for a dog bite. The subject was then taken into custody.
We will update once more information is made available.

Thank you Antioch PD and the K9. Love these photographs, looks like the person got a nice bite and it was well deserved.
“Chomper” is a good boy !!!
Yuck, I don’t like blood. I will never run from the police again for fear of the k9 bite. OUCH!
Looks like he was taken down on the right side pretty hard. Good job APD!

Give that crim fighter a steak with a bone and not the crimnals bone he might get some disease or something
Great job, APD! And, especially, good dog!
I feel so bad for all involved. I don’t expect everyone to understand this but he is in his addiction and needs help. Please know he is deeply loved and we will continue to pray for him and will never give up on him. We are grateful he is now locked up because we know he is now safe and will not worry if he is dead somewhere. Although we want him home we know this is a decision he must make to turn his life around. I think I can speak for the family and the ones who love him these pictures are very heartbreaking.
I knew it was just a matter of small moments before someone responded with how this criminal is as much a victim.
WOW
Jennifer, with any luck, one day he will say, “That dog saved my life!”
Great officers
I hope the dog didn’t catch anything from the jerk
