Election Season 2014 kicked off Monday where cities across east county saw a number of candidates pull papers for a potential run for a city council seat this November.

Monday July 14 marked the first day candidates could pull papers and city clerks were busy going over paperwork and highlighting rules. Those who have pulled papers will have until August 8 to file paperwork to become an “official” candidate.  The election will occur November 4.

The following information was provided by City Clerks in each city for those who pulled papers on Day 1.

Antioch
Diane Gibson-Gray
Lori Ogorchock
Tony Tiscareno

Brentwood
Joel Bryant

Oakley
Michael Dupray

Pittsburg
Sal Evola (incumbent)
Pete Longmire (incumbent)
Cesar Alvarado
Emmanuel Ogunleye
Bob Lewis

Editors Note: We did not include candidates who have announced, only those who pulled paperwork.

really hope more people consider running. Is Brentwood that happy with their council that no one wants to pull papers?

ECT,

Can you post a list of the seats and office holders that are available for challenge in each city? That would be helpful.

Thanks.
