California Congressman Calls Trump Executive Order on Refugees “Common Sense”

by ECT

House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes (CA-22) released the following statement today on the Trump Administration’s executive order on refugees:

“Based on my studies of this issue during numerous trips abroad related to intelligence matters, I’ve stated repeatedly that refugee flows from certain war-torn regions pose a serious national security threat to the United States. In light of attempts by jihadist groups to infiltrate fighters into refugee flows to the West, along with Europe’s tragic experience coping with this problem, the Trump Administration’s executive order on refugees is a common-sense security measure to prevent terror attacks on the homeland. While accommodations should be made for green card holders and those who’ve assisted the U.S. armed forces, this is a useful temporary measure on seven nations of concern until we can verify who is entering the United States.”

The statement comes after California Attorney General Xavier Becerra joined fifteen attorneys general from New York, Pennsylvania, Washington, Massachusetts, Hawaii, Virginia, Oregon, Connecticut, Vermont, Illinois, New Mexico, Iowa, Maine, Maryland and the District of Columbia, condemning President Donald Trump’s executive order:

“As the chief legal officers for over 130 million Americans and foreign residents of our states, we condemn President Trump’s unconstitutional, un-American and unlawful Executive Order and will work together to ensure the federal government obeys the Constitution, respects our history as a nation of immigrants, and does not unlawfully target anyone because of their national origin or faith.

Religious liberty has been, and always will be, a bedrock principle of our country and no president can change that truth.

Yesterday, multiple federal courts ordered a stay of the Administration’s dangerous Executive Order. We applaud those decisions and will use all of the tools of our offices to fight this unconstitutional order and preserve our nation’s national security and core values.

Yet Saudi Arabia, the one that funded the guys behind 9/11 is not on the list. I wonder why? ($$$$$)

True. But also true is Saudi Arabia passes the test for extreme vetting of the people they allow to leave the country. The royalty do not want a repeat of 9/11 either.

I’m with you. If you’re going to give ISIS their biggest recruiting tool since the Iraqi invasion, you might as well go all the way…yet, for some strange reason, Trump didn’t include the country that provided money and hijackers both.

The RWNJ responses cannot be far behind…Wait for it…

The process of coming into the USA as a refugee is extremely extensive as it is, people think you can just slip through the cracks; it’s not that easy. Especially crossing an ocean. So there’s gonna be a wall and a net?

They did say, Blake, Trump does business with Saudi Arabia. They should be on the ban too.
