At 7:22 pm Tuesday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a vehicle crash at Byron Highway and Camino Diablo in the community of Byron.
Engine 59 (Discovery Bay) arrived on scene to locate a two vehicle accident and determined there were 4 patients associated with the crash. A total of 3 ambulances were requested along with a medical helicopter.
According to Battalion Chief Jake Gonzalez, One patient was transported by air to John Muir Trauma center in Walnut Creek. In total, 1 patient had traumatic injuries, 2 patients had moderate injuries and 1 patient had minor injuries and was released on an AMA.
The crash is being investigated by the California Highway Patrol.
