On Tuesday Oct 1, East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian on Sunset Road in rural Brentwood at roughly 5:40 pm. Engines arrived to find a 3-year-old female down in the driveway cradled by her mother. The patient was conscious and breathing.
It was reported that the child was struck by a golf cart type vehicle in the driveway area pinning her against another parked vehicle.
The patient was transported immediately to a helicopter spot by AMR and then transported by helicopter UC Davis with possible internal injuries.
The cause of the accident is currently under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
