Brentwood Teachers Association Endorses “Measure B”

by ECT

At their monthly representative council meeting, the Brentwood Teachers Association,  on Tuesday May 10, voted to fully support “Measure B”- The Facilities Bond Measure that is on the June 7th ballot.

“Measure B” Bond funds will be used to renovate and modernize the District’s older schools, upgrade libraries, science and computer labs, and build a new elementary school to avoid overcrowding.  The bond measure provides for strict accountability if approved by voters. An Independent Citizens’ Oversight Committee will monitor all bond expenditures and annual audits will ensure bond funds are spent properly.

The average yearly cost to property owners in the Brentwood Elementary School District would be $28 per $100,000 of assessed valuation (not market value), generating $158 million for school facilities in Brentwood.

Brentwood Teachers Association members plan on providing support for the Yes on B campaign through phone banks, neighborhood walks and distribution of information concerning the ballot measure.

Please don’t forget to vote on Measure B on June 7th.

“build a new elementary school”

Stop having Antioch residents go to Brentwood School, this won’t be a problem! probably around 18-25% of the school population are from Antioch! this bond is simply very expensive for the taxpayers of brentwood which will only benefit Antioch
