Around 12:32 pm, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to Lone Tree Way and Jeffrey Way after a construction company severed a 4-inch gas line. Brentwood police were called for traffic control and blocked a single-lane to allow crews to work.
According to Monica Tell, PG&E, they were notified by 12:37 pm and stated a third-party contractor in the area hit the 4-inch line in front of a Shell Gas Station. As a precaution, the Shell Gas Station and Wendy’s were evacuated while no injuries were reported.
“PG&E crews are working as quickly and safely as possible to make repairs to damaged line,” said Tell via email.
Fire crews were on scene for 2-hours and 15-minutes as a precaution.
