Brentwood Rotary Raises $13k for The Pathway Home for Veterans

by ECT

On April 16, the Brentwood Rotary participated in the Cycle for Sight/Rotary Ride for Veterans to help raise funds for The Pathway Home. They raised $13,100 towards the cause.

This was the 7th year Brentwood Rotary participated in the event and had 11-riders. To date, they have raised more than $60,000 for the cause.

“Veterans causes are near and dear to rotary’s heart as we have a lot of veterans. Roger Strauss is a retired marine and he served in the middle east, so veterans who come back from there and with injuries that is something he is personally invested in and wants to see them get the help they need,” said Jennifer Fink. “It’s a blast to attend and networking with other Rotarian’s to discuss all the work being done to benefit causes around the world.”

The Pathway Home is a treatment facility for veterans suffering from Post Tramatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).  The Rotary Club took the challenge to raise enough money to pay for a 14-week treatment stay because this country loses more than two dozen veterans every day to suicide. The Pathway Homes’ treatment program is one way to reverse that horrible statistic.

The Pathway Home, Inc. is a privately funded organization that provides comprehensive treatment for our Nation’s military personnel who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan. They assist those impacted by Post Traumatic Stress (PTS), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and other post-combat mental health challenges to successfully reintegrate into their families and the community at large.

Since opening its doors in 2008, The Pathway Home, Inc. has helped more than 420 warriors and 180 of their family members to cope with the effects of PTS and TBI. The ONLY thing keeping us from helping more of our Nation’s heroes is funding. Donations directly impact the lives of these warriors as they transition to life after war.

The event was put on by the Napa Rotary Club.
