The Brentwood Rotary and high school students from local interact clubs partnered with Harvest Park Bowl on Saturday where they helped raise over $700 to help fight Polio.

Nearly 50 kids participated in the event which included Liberty High School, Freedom High School, Heritage High School and Pittsburg High Schools along with a few people from the LMC Rotaract Club.

“It’s awesome to get a joint-fundraiser with the other high schools,” said Dirk Zeigler, Youth Services Chair. “Having all four of our groups from our club along with some of the clubs outside of the area together was just awesome. To have 50 kids to come out to have fun and at the same time raise money for Polio is a great cause.

According to Zeigler, the newest information available says they are hoping to eradicate polio worldwide the by 2015

100% of the proceeds from the event will now be given to the Rotary Foundation PolioPlus Program.
