Brentwood Rockin’ Jump Addresses Police Activity After Parent Uses Pepper Spray

by ECT

The following statement was posted by Brentwood Rockin’ Jump after police were called as a precaution during “Teen Night” after an incident involving pepper spray.

According to the business, the kids were behaved, but a parent decided to settle her daughters dispute with a neighborhood rival at their facility by pepper spraying her at the front desk.

The smell of pepper spray filled the room so they cleared the building. The business said they may consider reintroducing a DJ in the future and the family involved has been banned for life.

Here is what was published on their Facebook Page:

Unfortunately, you may have heard that we had to call the police and close down early tonight. At Rockin’ Jump, we take safety seriously; and to keep the park safe on Teen Night we have added three security guards in addition to our regular staff.

The kids were all well behaved, but it appears that a mother decided it would be a good idea to settle her daughters dispute with a neighborhood rival tonight.

The mother learned that her daughter’s rival was coming to RJ for our Friday teen event, waited for the girl to arrive and pepper sprayed her at our front desk.

Our security team stopped the mother within seconds, but the pepper spray smell was so strong that we felt it was safest for all to clear the building.

We are saddened that a parent’s behavior ruined the evening for everyone, and everyone was given a certificate for free jump time.

While we do our best to provide a safe fun environment for kids, we never thought we had to police the parents. We trusted the parents in this community to use common sense and provide a good example for their children. Unfortunately, we have learned that this is not the case; and we will no longer be able to offer a teen experience on Fridays.

For the foreseeable future, we will remain open on Friday night, but we will no longer have a DJ and it will be open to all ages.

We thank you for your continue support.

My granddaughter was there and innocent kids were attacked. I hope the DA prosecutes this woman as she needs to go to jail!

Just curious…was the mom from the area? Brentwood, Antioch, Oakley?

Turning out more like Antioch every day.

While we don’t know what city these “rivals” are from, business owners should know their clientele and what behavior to expect. After all, RJ added security expecting trouble while in denial trouble above the level of not sharing equipment could happen. Perhaps contact your local police and ask what criminal history in this area has occurred with special events involving a DJ. The reply will open your eyes.

Well I want to see this lady go to prison for what she did but I fear that they will shove it under the rug because the Police are afraid to offend African Americans! I don’t care what color she was if you do the crime you do the time!

Poor Brentwood. I’ve said it many times… The ghetto love greener pastures. There is no invisible wall that will separate your precious town from the ghetto that surrounds you. Be afraid. Be very afraid. Lol. And continue to go out of your way to make friends with them at your precious parks. Then they’ll rob you blind. Lmao.

What a terrible thing to say. I live in Antioch moved here 40 years ago as Concord was getting so big. I loved the feeling of a smaller town. Crime is everywhere and although I don’t live in Brentwood my grandkids live in Oakley and my granddaughter was there that night. I consider all of East County my home. I don’t wish this kind of evil on anyone, Brentwood is our neighbor not our enemy!

An adult pepper sprayed a minor/child if I understand this correctly. She needs to be found and charges filed. Another hood rat spoiling the fun for kids who just came out for an evening of fun. Some folks only know how to deal with situation with violence. Disgusting.
