Brentwood Regional Community Chest Seeks Volunteers as they Prepare for Giveaway

by ECT

In an effort to assist those in the community in need, the Brentwood Community Chest is hosting opportunities for people to volunteer this week.

According to Lill Pierce, they have approximately 400 families in need in the communities of Brentwood, Discovery Bay, Knightsen, Bethel Island and Byron. The organization will be providing food and toys to families.

On Tuesday and Thursday, they will sort and pack toys in the warehouse behind the Brentwood Police Department (400 Guthrie Lane) starting at 6:00pm.

On Friday, they will meet at Brentwood Elementary School to sort and pack the food. This starts at 4:30pm.

On Saturday we will distribute the food and toys at Brentwood Elementary starting at 7:00 am.

Volunteers are welcome and it is not necessary to sign up prior to volunteering. Monetary donations are always greatly appreciated. All donations to the Community Chest stay in East County. Tax ID #94-73204667

Families, clubs and teams often participate as a group. Board members are available to validate volunteer hours for students. Parents may bring children to help as long as they are supervised. It is not necessary to sign up prior to volunteering.
