Brentwood Police Shoot One Suspect, Another Injured Friday Night

The Brentwood Police Department are still being tight lipped after an officer involved shooting occurred Friday night in the 500 block of Birchwood Road off Garin Parkway.

One male was airlifted to a local hospital after being shot in the hip and another was ground transported by AMR to another hospital with facial injuries according to Jeff Burris, Battalion Chief of the East Contra Costa Fire protection District.

According to Brentwood Police Lieutenant Tim Herbert, he confirmed there was no traffic pursuit and the crash was not DUI related. They were also withholding suspect information including name, age and location of where the two suspects reside.

When asked if the two suspects had any outstanding warrants, Lt. Herbert stated none that he was aware of.

The cause of the crash into the home was also not released.

BRENTWOOD, CA – On June 9, 2017 at 9:48 pm the Brentwood Police Department had an officer involved shooting in the 500 block of Birchwood Road. One suspect was shot and a second suspect was injured but not by gun shots.

Both suspects were transported to an area hospital. No Brentwood Police Department officers were injured. The case is currently under investigation by the Brentwood Police Department and the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s office.

The officers don’t seem to have a lot to say about the incident which is typical when the shooting is unjustified and illegal.

Maybe it because that it won’t be P.C. To say who they shot and why!
