Brentwood Police Investigate Suspicious Device, Prompts Lockdown at Heritage High

On October 24 at 10:18 am, Brentwood Police officers were investigating a suspicious circumstance report.

The officers were at Heritage High School speaking with a student related to the case. While on scene the student’s parent arrived on scene. The parent advised the officers that the suspicious device they were talking to the student about was in her vehicle.

heritage-hs-threatPolice say it was determined that the vehicle was parked in front of the school. The parent transported the device to the officers because she did not feel it was dangerous.

Based on the information obtained by the officers the Walnut Creek Bomb Squad was notified and the school was put on lockdown.

The bomb squad drove the vehicle to a safe location where the devices were removed from the vehicle. The devices were investigated and determined not to be dangerous.

The school lifted the lockdown at 1:13pm. This case is still under investigation at this time.
