Brentwood Police Catch Residential Burglary Suspect

by ECT

On Friday, the Brentwood Police Department made an arrest of a residential burglary suspect after he jumped from a second story balcony in an attempt to flee the scene in the City of Brentwood.

At approximently 1:30 pm Friday, Brentwood Officers were called to a home on Trinity Drive after a citizen returned to their residence to find a burglar inside their house. The burglar fled and Officers responded to the area and located the suspect, identified as 22 year-old Damonee Andrews of Brentwood, a short distance away. Andrews refused to stop and ran from officers while dropping some of the stolen property.

Andrews managed to avoid capture for several hours.

Officers remained persistent, continuing their search for Andrews. A few hours later an officer spotted Andrews walking. Andrews took off running again, this time into a nearby apartment complex. Officers spotted him again on a second story balcony where he then jumped from that balcony still trying to avoid capture.

After another foot chase, officers were able to apprehend Andrews and safely take him into custody near the Sand Creek Business Park on Sand Creek Road.

Andrews was taken to the county jail where he was booked on the charges of burglary and obstructing officers.
