Brentwood: One Critically Injured After Three Vehicle Crash on State Route 4

At 5:05 pm Thursday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a vehicle crash at State Route 4 and Sand Creek Road that left one person critically injured and another with moderate injuries.

According to Battalion Chief Jeff Burris, AMR arrived on scene for the vehicle crash and determined they had three vehicles involved with patient pinned in the vehicle under the dash and steering wheel.

The District requested additional resources to the scene for an extrication where firefighters had to remove the roof and lifting the dashboard and steering wheel off the vehicle.

Once the patient was free, the patient was flown by air ambulance to John Muir Medical Hospital in Walnut Creek.

The District says one vehicle sustained moderate damage while two others were totaled.  The incident required three fire engines, AMR, CHP and CALSTAR.

The crash is under investigation by CHP.

no it really isn’t. You have cars traveling at 55+ mph and all of the sudden inturns into one lane. Since they’ve widened this road this bottle neck on both sides is extremely dangerous. It’s not fixing stupid it’s more like fix the road

How about a law that states how many homes can be built based on the safety and quality of the surrounding roads?
