At 7:27 pm Sunday, a motorcyclist was airlifted to a local hospital after he traveled off the roadway on Deer Valley Road near Briones Valley Rd and landed in a barbed wire fence.
According to East Contra Costa Fire Protection District units on scene, the male did lose consciousness and requested a medical helicopter.
By 7:48 pm, units were still on scene preparing the patient to be transported to the helicopter spot.
No further details were available.
