On Saturday at approximately 10:00 pm, Antioch police received a report that a home was possibly being burglarized in the area of Smetzer Way and Summerfield Drive in the City of Antioch.

According to Lieutenant Desmond Bittner, the resident was able to view home surveillance camera remotely where he watched someone inside his home. He then called authorities.

Police officers arrived on scene where they attempted to make contact with the suspect when they noticed forced entry occurred through a bedroom window.

“After making announcements, the suspect refused to come outside and that is when a K9 from Brentwood was deployed. The suspect was then apprehended,” said Bittner.

The suspect was a 22-year-old Antioch resident.

No further details were released.
