Brentwood: Free Car Seat Safety Inspections Set for Saturday

by ECT

The California Highway Patrol, Brentwood Police and Assemblyman Jim Frazier are teaming up to provide a free car seat safety inspection event on Saturday, Sept. 19.

The event will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., families are invited to drive to Brentwood Senior Activity Center Parking Lot, 193 Griffith Lane, Brentwood, where child passenger safety technicians will be on hand to ensure that car seats and booster seats are properly installed in the vehicle. The inspectors are certified by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

“Every year, we hear of children who are injured or killed because their safety seats weren’t properly installed or their buckles weren’t fastened right,” Frazier said. “I’m glad we can offer this opportunity for parents and caregivers to make sure they are correctly using their children’s safety equipment.”

According to the CHP

  • Children must be restrained in a child safety seat until age 8 or until they reach a height
of 4 feet 9 inches under CA law.
  • Certified National Highway Traffic Safety Administration child passenger safety technicians will offer free inspections of your child’s car or booster seat to ensure these devices are properly installed in your vehicle.
  • Free bicycle and pedestrian safety tips will also be provided by the Street Smarts Diablo program. Come meet Mr. Beeps!
  • Keep your kids safer when traveling; your child is counting on you!

In addition to the inspections, free bicycle and pedestrian safety tips will be provided by the Street Smarts
Diablo program. Come meet Mr. Beeps!
