Brentwood Considered for a Great Wolf Lodge Resort

by ECT

On Friday, the City of Brentwood announced that Great Wolf Resorts, Inc. located in Madison,
Wisconsin have approached the City of Brentwood as they research this market area in
hopes of locating one of their family oriented indoor water park resorts in Northern
California.

The city said while not in formal negotiations at this point, the parties are in discussion about
the possibilities for a Great Wolf Lodge in Brentwood.

Brentwood Mayor Bob Taylor said there is still some work to do but is excited for the possibility of Great Wolf Resorts to potentially come to Brentwood.

“This will forever change the scene of the City of Brentwood if this actually happens and the surrounding communities,” said Taylor. “Obviously this is a really great asset to the City in regards to jobs, prosperity, bringing people into the area. It’s too early to really understand the ramifications of the whole development. This is a very exciting time for Brentwood and Contra Costa County as a whole.”

There are thirteen Great Wolf Lodge locations throughout the United States with one of those in Garden Grove, California.

According to their website, Your Great Wolf Lodge resort adventure begins in their massive, 84-degree indoor water park packed with thrill rides, water slides and splashin’ fun for the little ones. When you’re ready to dry off, you’ll find attractions, games, activities and adventures along with plenty of family-friendly dining options, all under one roof!

Congratulations to Brentwood for even being in the running. They have a totally different attitude toward business than Antioch. The City of Antioch is happy with mediocrity as shown in their being thrilled to get a Mels. Mels? Give me a break.

No thanks, more minimum wage jobs, strain on our roads and local businesses. We can’t even handle the amount of people we have here now, yet they want to make this a tourist attraction in the middle of east county? Poor planning.

More minimum wage jobs yes…but mostly for younger adults and teenagers. I see this as a positive. Plus, during the winter you can go warm up!

I think that most of the traffic would be in directions reverse to commuting so don’t see much impact there. Heck, the income to the city might even help finish some of the roads around here.

Exacyly! Can you imagine the traffic on a Saturday or Sunday? Its bad enough now on Fridays holy cow! And on top of that they are still shoving E Bart down our thoats right to Sand Creek! thats great, a direct line for the miscreants to stop at and rob us all at gun point then jet back to the hood. no thank you. Just ask Pleasanton and Stone Ridge mall customers how Bart is working out for them ug.

Is this a report of actual intent or an advertisement for Great Wolf Resorts in Garden Grove? It feels like a weak excuse for advertisement monies.

The City of Brentwood should bring back the Brentwood Rod end Gun Club. Have a range of at least 200 yards, action pistol range and a nice club house for local folks and families can have fun.
