The Contra Costa Transportation Authority has announced roadwork on the Balfour Interchange Project will result in full closures of Highway 4 beginning Monday night.
The work will begin on Monday July 9 through Wednesday July 11 between 10:00 pm to 4:00 am. Crews will implement detours to direct motorists.
According to CCTA, Construction crews will be working on the north and south ends of the project areas to complete tie-ins for eastbound traffic lanes. Activities will include asphalt paving, stripping, installation of overhead signs, and placement of concrete barriers.
The also added that motorists should watch for intermittent lane closures on Balfour Road starting Monday, July 9, 2018 through Friday, July 13, 2018 from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm.
Construction crews will be working on the electrical conduit installation, and drainage systems on Balfour Road.

it would be nice if the road closures were announced at least week in advance so motorists can plan for extra commute time….the signs of road closure had the wrong dates, said it started on the 11th and not the 9th. Just sayin’…..
