At 8:45 pm Friday evening, emergency crews responded to a vehicle accident on Balfour Road that left three people injured in Brentwood while leaving Police to search for a subject who fled the scene on foot.

The incident occurred on Balfour Road and Cortona Way as two vehicles collided causing one vehicle to flip onto its roof.

East Contra Costa Fire Protection District Engines 52 and 54 responded to perform a technical rescue which closed the road (eastbound) in front of John Muir Medical Center for some time as crews worked and cleared debris.  All three injuries appear to be minor.  Also, vegetation and a sign were damaged in the wreck. Crews were on scene for roughly 49-minutes

During a second incident on Adams Lane, it was relayed to us around 11:00 pm that Brentwood Police found the driver who fled the scene who was described as a white male with reddish hair.

No other details were released other than they found him.

Update: Saturday Morning 10:55 AM

Brentwood PD arrested a 26-year-old male who fled the scene of yesterdays accident after the owners of the vehicle contacted Brentwood PD. It turns out, the  subject was a family member who has a warrant out for arrest in Los Angeles County. Speeding appears to be the cause of the accident.

I’m not sure where the 3rd injury came from. I was there and there were only two young ladies from the white vehicle and no passengers in the red vehicle, other than the driver who fled the scene.
