At 6:31 pm Sunday, East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a three-vehicle crash at Shady Willlow Lane and Sand Creek which required a medical helicopter for a 12-year-old girl.
The helicopter was scheduled to land just after 7:00 pm at the Streets of Brentwood and was ordered after the girl lost consciousness.
According to the Fire District, there were a total of 5 patients, including the 12-year-old who was unrestrained in her seat at the time of the crash. A total of 5-AMR units were requested and a Tier 1 Multiple Casualty Incident was established.
Contra Costa County Fire was also requested to the scene as Engine 59 (Discovery Bay) was on a CPR call and headed to a local hospital while Engine 53 (Oakley) was responding to a fall victim.
CALFIRE was moved up to cover the District as no units were available.
Check back for details as crews are still on scene.

Who in their right minds don’t buckle up these days. The driver should be charged/sited.
Irresponsible people will never buckle up.
This light gets run multiple times each day! When you are a tenth of a mile away, yellow does not mean gas it and go. It is an awful intersection.
Cimonpure, “sited” is spelled with a “c”. Other than that I totally agree with you.
No excuses – A period belongs inside the quotes “c.” Not outside at the end of a sentence. Other than that I agree with you.
Shut up dumd hoe
Melanie, you are 100% correct on that!
Thanks for the education folks…but it is Simonpure with a “S.” 🙂
That’s my close friend! I feel so bad for her!!! I love her!!!
I don’t agree , this young child might have been trying to Get/ reach for something . This is not the kids falit. Things happen when people don’t think .
Some things happen on accident. She may have been putting on her seatbelt or not. We will never know. But I hope everyone is okay.??Hope for the best for everyone in the accident!?
If I have kids in the car, they are always belted! If they undo their belts just to “test” me, I pull over and stop the vehicle and wait until they belt up again!
Why is everyone so concerned with spelling and NOT with what the article is really about??
