A bill that was vetoed last year by Governor Jerry Brown that would limit the number of guns Californians could purchase each month was reintroduced this week.
Introduced by Senator Anthony Portantino (D–La Cañada Flintridge), Senate Bill 61 would prohibit Californians from purchasing more than 1-firearm per month.
According to the bill, it would the 30-day prohibition and the dealer delivery prohibition described above applicable to all types of firearms. The bill would also exempt from that prohibition the purchase of a firearm, other than a handgun, by a person who possesses a valid, unexpired hunting license issued by the state, and the acquisition of a firearm, other than a handgun, at specified charity fundraising events.
Existing law, subject to exceptions, prohibits a person from making more than one application to purchase a handgun within any 30-day period. SB 61 would apply to all firearms.
Last year, Portantino introduced SB 1177 which Governor Brown vetoed.

Useless bill. Gangs don’t buy their guns in stores.
Welcome to Demafornia.
Every unconstitutional bill ever vetoed by Governor Brown, will be quickly and without thought, rubber stamped by Newsome.
Newsom is even worse than Moonbeam!
So, I go to Arizona and New Mexico and buy as many as I wish!
Tammy,
That is what’s so deceiving about these politicians. They waste time and resources grandstanding legislation that is totally useless. Eventually only the murders and police will have guns.
