Bethel Island: Motorcyclist Airlifted to Local Hospital After Crash Involving Dog

At 12:13 am Friday, East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a report of a motorcyclist down in the 2200 block of Taylor Road on Bethel Island.

Engine 53 arrived on scene and located a 53-year-old motorcyclist down in the street suffering from neck and back injuries.

The call came in as a motorcyclist vs. pedestrian; however, Battalion Chief 5 said this was a motorcyclist versus dog.

According to Battalion Chief 5, the driver hit a dog which caused them to crash. The motorcyclist was in and out of consciousness. Animal control was needed for the dog.

CHP is currently investigating the crash.

The dogs owner is responsible. Their dogs have been chasing bikes and cars for years. Lock them up.
