Do you really post this? This is not news because no one was hurt or injured and it appears to be just a person having emotional issues. Sad decision to post this ECT, very dissapointed in you. Shame on you guys.

I like being informed of incidents happening within our community. Thank you ECT!!!! To anyone that doesn’t appreciate it, don’t read it. Real simple.

@ Alice

Your reasons are the dumbest things I’ve ever heard. Obviously, you have some sort of relationship with the perp.

If you dont like it, dont follow ECT. Its very simple. This IS news and I think most people are glad you reported it. Let the haters hate somewhere else.

It is nicknamed Methel Island for a reason.

Ellen Aug 2, 2014 - 11:43 am

There are more law abiding respectable island residents than “dopers”. I want to know what is going on in my community, especially since the incident was right down the street from me. The island has improved a lot, so please lets drop the “methol” crap. You don’t know why the guy did what he did.

Reginald Jamal Brown Aug 2, 2014 - 12:01 pm

And I suppose you know “why the guy did what he did”?

Reginald Jamal Brown Aug 2, 2014 - 1:46 pm

…. but I meant menthol. As in menthol cigarrettes?

Chuck Aug 2, 2014 - 12:15 pm

Its not Methol like cough drops. Its Methel like dope. Some very nice people are on the Island.

Thank you for the correction. 😉

Thanks for posting. We are a small community here on BETHEL Island. We are very accepting of differences and care about one another. This wouldn’t be “big news” in surrounding communities but it is here.

245 arrests all for PC71? What a waste of tax payer dollars. This guy obviously has serious issues and wants the attention.

71. (a) Every person who, with intent to cause, attempts to cause,
or causes, any officer or employee of any public or private
educational institution or any public officer or employee to do, or
refrain from doing, any act in the performance of his duties, by
means of a threat, directly communicated to such person, to inflict
an unlawful injury upon any person or property, and it reasonably
appears to the recipient of the threat that such threat could be
carried out, is guilty of a public offense punishable as follows:
(1) Upon a first conviction, such person is punishable by a fine
not exceeding ten thousand dollars ($10,000), or by imprisonment
pursuant to subdivision (h) of Section 1170, or in a county jail not
exceeding one year, or by both that fine and imprisonment.
(2) If the person has been previously convicted of a violation of
this section, such previous conviction shall be charged in the
accusatory pleading, and if that previous conviction is found to be
true by the jury, upon a jury trial, or by the court, upon a court
trial, or is admitted by the defendant, he or she is punishable by
imprisonment pursuant to subdivision (h) of Section 1170.
(b) As used in this section, “directly communicated” includes, but
is not limited to, a communication to the recipient of the threat by
telephone, telegraph, or letter.

Thank you ECT for posting what was happening in OUR community last night. There a a lot of citizens that live on the Island I don’t know where everyone posting lives and I really don’t care, just wake up there are bad people and things happening everywhere.

ECT – I also very much appreciate you reporting on incidents such as this. It amazes me how little that goes on in B.I., Oakley, Brentwood, etc. actually makes it into the local newspaper. Pretty much nothing!! If someone picked up & read our local times, they would tend to think our area is a nice, incident – free, safe place to live.

While some neighborhoods are just that, there is a hell of alot of stuff going on around here that somehow gets swept under the carpet. Since most stuff is never reported on, not many know about things that are happening all around them & unfortunately, that leads to people having a false sense of security. I firmly believe that every person has the right to know how safe/unsafe the neighborhood they choose to live in, is.I

f you really want to know what is really happening under your nose, go on-line to a police scanner website & tune in to your local area’s department & you can hear in live-time what is really going on.

Spell check! “The incident forced police to evacuated neighboring homes”
