Bay Point: Man Taken into Custody After Attempting to Set House on Fire

Just after 3:00 pm Tuesday, Contra Costa County firefighters responded to a report of a male who poured gasoline on the floor of a residence and attempted to set the home on fire.

The fire department was called after Contra Costa County Sheriffs deputies were on scene.

According to Jimmy Lee, spokesperson for the Sheriffs Department, deputies responded to the incident in the 100 block of Siino Avenue after a man had poured gasoline on the floor and tried to light a fire. Deputies quickly responded and took the 34-year-old man into custody.

He was taken to a local hospital for medical evaluation. There were no reported injuries.

No further information was provided.
