At 1:16 pm, Contra Costa County Firefighters responded to a report of a vegetation fire in the 4700 block of Evora Road near the United Sportsmen Gun Range.
Upon arrival, crews located 3-acres on fire with a steep slope and fast spread. An immediate second alarm response was requested.
By 1:38 pm, according to radio traffic, two active flanks were in place to begin fighting the fire.
By 1:51 pm, the fire had spread to 20-acres and PG&E requested to respond to their tower.
This is now the second vegetation fire Contra Costa Fire is battling as around 12:34 pm, crews responded to Highway 4 between Laurel Road and Hillcrest in Antioch in the construction zone. Crews as of 1:37 pm were still on scene.
