Bay Area Distilling Company Wins SIP Awards for Golden State Vodka

by ECT

Brentwood, CA —  Bay Area Distilling Company is proud to announce its 2017 Spirits International Prestige (SIP) Awards win for its artisan spirit, Golden State California Corn Vodka. Proving to be a “winning spirit” right out of the gate, Golden State Vodka was recognized with the SIP Awards top honor, the Platinum Medal–competing against 673 spirit brands from around the world.

It also took the SIP Awards’ 2017 Consumers’ Choice Award (CCA), which is presented to brands that demonstrate the ultimate in quality to consumers year after year.

“We couldn’t be happier about both wins,” says Bay Area Distilling Company CEO & Co-Founder, Ryan Richardson. In 2015, we set out to create a first in premium artisan spirits, using our proprietary distilling process and farm-fresh, local ingredients grown in our own backyard. Just two years later, we’ve turned the industry on its ear with the best corn-derived vodka on the planet! Brentwood Sweet Corn is known far and wide for its sweet, succulent flavor and Golden State Vodka celebrates the vibrant spirit and flavors of California!” he adds.

Hosted earlier this year in Newport Beach, CA, the SIP Awards (www.sipawards.com) is the largest blind tasting competition that allows both established brands and newcomers alike to compete and be evaluated by an unbiased consumer panel of judges. Domestic and international spirts were judged on the merits of taste, aroma, and finish by 118 consumers judges. This year, of the 673 brands that entered, 91 brands did not make the cut or qualify for any accolade whatsoever.

Bay Area Distilling Company is based in Brentwood, California, where it produces Golden State Vodka & Golden State Whiskey, also a SIP Awards medalist (2016 Platinum). Imbued with soft hints of corn and a buttery smooth finish, Golden State Vodka is non-GMO, gluten-free and contains no added sugar. The product is expected to be wholly organic by 2018.

It is now available at many Safeway, Whole Foods, BevMo! and Total Wines & More stores in Northern California, and will soon be available at a growing list of retail outlets and restaurants throughout the state.
