If you make an amazing cupcake, it’s time to battle with other local bakers. Discovery Bay is showcasing the gourmet cupcake craze that we love sinking our teeth into. The Byron-Delta Lions Club and the Discovery Bay Chamber of Commerce are presenting the Discovery Bay Cupcake Wars Bake-Off Competition on Saturday, October 12th. The event is part of Discovery Bay’s Rocktoberfest.
The cupcake competition will take place at the Discovery Bay Shopping Center. Cupcake participants can sell their cupcakes at the event and/or give free samples to the public. The fee for entering the contest is $20.
Cupcake Wars is part of Rocktoberfest. This is a family Concert and Vendor Expo. The concert features The Department of Rock band. There will also be a kid’s alley, car & motorcycle exhibition show, mechanical riding bull, beer & wine garden, and food will be available for purchase. The event runs from 2:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Proceeds benefit local charities Come out and support our schools and businesses!

Are permits only required for professional bakers? I’m an amateur baker, does that mean I can’t sell only sample?
Hi. In addition to the $20 entry fee for the cupcake wars comp. do we also have to register as a vendor?
Let’s all be sure to have our proper selling permits and health dept.food permits. The discovery food and event police will surely be out in force to write tickets for those law breakers. My big bro has contacted the proper people to keep everyone in line at this event. He knows everything about anything and will most likely be on hand to degrade the event. Enjoy because it will be a sweet event.

Out of curiousity, what is the prize for the winners?
Will the baking actually be taking place there or are the bakers to bring freshly made cupcakes? (5 identical ones) Please let me know thank you. I want to be prepared for everything as this will be my first ever.
i sent in my registration almost a week and a half ago and havent heard anything back????? what should i do?
