Here is a look at the events in East Contra Costa County for August 5-6:

8:00 am: Brentwood Farmers Market
The 2017 season will run every Saturday through November 18  located at First Street between Oak and Chestnut.


8:00 am: Delta Youth Soccer
Los Medanos College, Stadium, Park in Lot B

No parking pass will be needed.

10:00 am to 3:00 pm – team and individual pictures
9:00 am to 3:00 pm – refreshment and other booths open
8:45 am – U6, U8 & U10 teams should be on field to start parade.
9:00 am – Cereromy/Parade starts
10:30 am – Coaches soccer game – boy coaches versus girls coaches
3:30 pm – Clean up


9:00 am: Pittsburg Farmers Market
Join the Pittsburg Farmers Market Saturdays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm between May 6 through October 21 located at Railroad Ave between 5th and 6th Streets.


9:00 am: Bethel Island Lions Club 2nd Annual Poker Run
Join the Bethel Island Lions Club at the Rusty Porthole on Bethel Island where registration begins at 9:00 am.  The event is an excuse to spend the day on the Delta! You can participate by boat, car, or motorcycle. When you return to the Rusty Porthole in the afternoon, there will be prize drawings, music by Double Down Band, and dinner! It will be a fun day for all! The cost is $60 which includes a breakfast, dinner and a T-shirt.  You also get an entry for the drawing and qualification for the prizes given at each stop.


9:00 am Antioch Police Set for 83rd Neighborhood Cleanup

The 83rd Neighborhood Cleanup event will occur on Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. We will be cleaning the neighborhood along Center Lane, Tregallas Road, Garrow Drive and Worrell Road. Volunteers will meet at Belshaw Elementary School on Roosevelt Lane (see map).

Volunteers will receive instructions and the equipment necessary to accomplish the goal. The targeted area is within walking distance. Excluding inclement weather, future Neighborhood Cleanup events are scheduled for the first Saturday of every month and the locations will be announced in advance.


10:00 am: Claryssa’s Annual Back2School Stuff the Bus School Supply Giveaway
On Saturday August 5, students within the Antioch Unified School District are encouraged to attend Claryssa’s Back2School Stuff the Bus School Supply Give-a-Way 2017/18.

This is a free event hosted by Claryssa Wilson where students can receive school supplies for the upcoming school year. The event will be located at the Somersville Towne Center Mall (2550 Somersville Rd) from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Sponsors include: Golden State Warriors, Somersville Towne Center, Antioch Schools Education Foundation, Ivancich, Martin & Costas, and Republic Services.

1:00 pm: Taste of the Delta

The Taste of The Delta fund-raiser for the California Delta Chambers showcases Delta Area Wineries, Restaurants, Artists, and Artisans. Guests sample wines, food, enjoy vendor booths, live music, and silent and live auctions. The event is being held at the Stockton Yacht Club. 3:00 pm: Elite Dance Studio at El Campanil
City Lights performance
All tickets are $15.


6:00 pm: Antioch Summer Concert Series
The free Saturday Summer Concert Series continues through August 26th.

The concerts are held in Waldie Plaza in downtown Antioch, across from City Hall, from 6-8 PM. The concerts are for all ages and is a gathering place for family and friends, as well as an great location to make new friends. The concert venue backdrop is the beautiful Delta River, along with occasional trains, sailboats, tugboats and more. A nice summer breeze will keep you cool and comfortable as you enjoy a variety of music though-out the summer. Parking is available in the many parking lots in downtown Antioch.

The 2017 remaining concert lineup includes:

  • August 5th, Tuck & Roll; 50s, 60s & 70s;
  • August 12th, Project 4, Punk, Soul, Latin & R&B;
  • August 19th, Last Call, Southern Rock;
  • August 26th, Frankie G & the Conviction, High-energy Blues & Grooves.

Seating is not provided, lawn chairs and blankets are recommended.

7:30 pm: Hannah Nicole Vineyards Summer Concert Series

Hannah Nicole Vineyards & Winery is pleased to announce The Under Cover Girls . The third of our 2017, 5-Concert Series.

All of our concerts are on a Saturday from 7:30pm to 9:30pm, doors open at 6:30pm. Food purchase will be available. Please bring a blanket or low back chair. We look forward to seeing you at our 2017 Concert Series in the Vineyard!
