Here is a look at the events in East Contra Costa County

8:00 am: Brentwood Farmers Market
The 2017 season will run every Saturday through November 18  located at First Street between Oak and Chestnut.


9:00 am: Pittsburg Farmers Market
Join the Pittsburg Farmers Market Saturdays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm between May 6 through October 21 located at Railroad Ave between 5th and 6th Streets.


10:00 am: Antioch Family Fun Fair
Excalibur Business Solutions is hosting the first annual Antioch Family Fair on August 26th from 10:am to 5:pm, at the Somersville Towne Center Mall outside parking lot. The event will feature live performances, children’s activities, vendors and much more.

Children’s activities include trackless train rides, bounce house, inflatable obstacle course, walk-on-water bubbles, petting zoo, and pony rides. Local businesses will host a variety of games and activities from their vendor booths. Live bands, dance performers, and magicians will share the stage all day to entertain the festival attendees with music, games, prizes and dancing.

Admission is free all day at the event. The first 300 attendees will enjoy a complimentary swag bag filled with valuable giveaways from our sponsors, coupons, and samples.


11:00 am: Brentwood Art, Wine and Jazz Festival
Don’t miss a weekend filled with great music, wine, beer, and art! Free admission! Help support your community while having a great time. Proceeds from the event fund the arts in our schools and other community programs. There will be 9 local wines and craft brews, spectacular bands, fine artists and contemporary crafters, mini golf, mini ice rink, free children’s art activities, a wall of student art, and a high school art display.

11:00 am: Jazz, Blues and Funk Fest

Join the City of Pittsburg at 51 Marina Blvd between 11:00 am to 8:00 pm for the Jazz, Blues and Funk Fest featuring 5-bands including Project 4 Band who play from 6pm to 9:00 pm.


2:00 pm – El Campanil: The Vagabond Players Present A Bench In The Sun
Two old fogies spend their days bickering on a bench in the courtyard of their retirement home. Burt is a sloppy, crusty former accountant; Harold is a dapper dandy with failed marriages and businesses. They suddenly have something new to argue about when faded Hollywood starlet—who the men admired in their younger days—takes up residency. Her flirtatious antics begin a competition between the friends as they vie for her attention. Hilarious antics abound!

Bring the kids, friends, chairs and blankets and get ready to have a fun evening and please support your Community Foundation.

Please no coolers or outside food are allowed as all the proceeds go directly back into our schools and other great needs in Discovery Bay.


6:00 pm: Antioch Summer Concert Series

The free Saturday Summer Concert Series continues through August 26th. The concerts are held in Waldie Plaza in downtown Antioch, across from City Hall, from 6-8 PM. The concerts are for all ages and is a gathering place for family and friends, as well as an great location to make new friends. The concert venue backdrop is the beautiful Delta River, along with occasional trains, sailboats, tugboats and more. A nice summer breeze will keep you cool and comfortable as you enjoy a variety of music though-out the summer. Parking is available in the many parking lots in downtown Antioch.

The 2017 remaining concert lineup includes:

6:00 pm: Oakley Summer Concert
Come enjoy an evening of good music and friends at the Oakley Summer Concert
featuring the popular band, The Floorshakers. The concert is Saturday, August 26th at
6:00 p.m. at the Civic Center Plaza. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets. Admission is
FREE


7:00 pm: Antioch Speedway
Join the Antioch Speedway at the Contra Costa Fairgrounds for a night of racing. Winged Sprint Cars, Wingless Sprints, A-Mods, B-Mods, LLM, Hobby Stocks and Hard Tops

Tonight’s concert is sold out, however, next month, tickets are still available to The Purple Ones, Insatiable Tribute to Prince
