An attempted homicide investigation is underway in Pleasant Hill, according to police.
On Tuesday just before 8 p.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Ryan Dr. to investigate the report of a woman bleeding from the neck and in need of medical attention. Upon arrival, the woman was located with serious injuries stemming from a domestic violence incident involving her husband, according to Police. The victim was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment.
Officers identified the apartment where the incident occurred and surrounded it, attempting to establish communication with the suspect inside, police said. There was no response, but officers were able to see inside and identify the suspect, who police say had a self-inflicted injury. Officers entered the apartment and detained the suspect, who was also transported to an area hospital for medical treatment.
Police say the investigation is active and ongoing, and the scene is secure and there are no outstanding suspects.
