Frazier Profile

Sacramento, CA – Today, Assemblymember Jim Frazier (D-Oakley) made the following statement regarding the Legislature’s approval of the 2014-15 Budget:

“After months of collaboration between the Governor and the Legislature, I am pleased to see a balanced budget that restores many cuts from recent years, pays down significant debt and establishes a healthy reserve for our state.

This budget increases education funding by $5.6 billion, provides $142 million for drought relief, increases court funding by $223 million and reestablishes the crucial Early Start Program for developmentally disabled children. While this year’s plan provides $1.2 billion in overall infrastructure projects, I am hopeful that next year’s budget will make a more significant investment in transportation projects that rebuild our roads and put people to work.”
