Assemblymember Frazier Appointed to Chair Assembly Transportation and Infrastructure Development Committee

by ECT

Sacramento, CA – Assemblymember Jim Frazier (D – Oakley) released the following quote in response to his appointment by Speaker Toni Atkins (D – San Diego) to chair the Assembly Transportation and Infrastructure Development Committee:

“I am honored that Speaker Atkins has appointed me to Chair the Assembly Transportation and Infrastructure Development Committee as a part of the special session called by Governor Brown last week.

I applaud the Governor and the Legislature for coming together and seeking a long-term sustainable funding solution for transportation, particularly with focus on highway maintenance and trade corridors. I am also pleased that the Governor is specifically asking the Legislature for a plan that establishes clear performance objectives and the means to deliver transportation projects more quickly and efficiently.

I have been working for months with industry representatives on these issues, and I look forward to engaging in a very productive special session that will address California’s most pressing transportation needs.”
