Assemblyman Frazier Meets with Business Owners During Downtown Walk

by ECT

Assemblyman Jim Frazier (D-Oakley) continued with his Downtown Walk Series across his District yesterday as he met with several Antioch businesses to get  grasp on their concerns and what issues are important to them.

He was joined by Antioch City Councilman Tony Tiscareno, Antioch Chamber CEO Sean Wright, a local business owner and an economic development representative from the City of Antioch.

The group spent nearly two-hours walking W. 2nd Street and W. 3rd street stopping into businesses for a short conversation. Last week, Assemblyman Frazier walked in downtown Brentwood. He has also completed walks in Fairfield and Vacaville.

Performing this type of outreach is a way for him to get out into the community and see what is going on.

“I do this to get a pulse on what different areas what business owners are saying they need from me to be an advocate for them in Sacramento,” said Frazier.  “Now I can go back to Sacramento and find ways to help them whether it be finding programs or working with local city leaders.”

The local business shared their concerns which included improving foot traffic, improving crime, city assistance with homeless walking downtown and a variety of other issues.

This is a very good thing and of course he has plenty of other stuff asking for his attention. I have been trying for 5 years to get Antioch council and chamber to do this but because they would not businesses left. Businesses have told us that is the reason, they felt abandoned. Thank you Mr. Fazier

Improving crime? Does that mean there will be a program to help criminals do a better job at ripping people off? Just asking 🙂

Thank you for coming out to visit and ask question about what we think, and our concerns. I love Where my business is and want to help get the downtown area back to life. There is so much potential for our downtown Antioch!!!
