Art Ray: Saturday Event Highlights the “Good” in Sycamore Corridor

by ECT

Saturday afternoon neighbors came out in force  to Antioch’s Contra Loma Estates park on Mahogany street to celebrate the good.

Saturday was a safe family fun filled day, that included everything from gospel rappers sharing words of positivity, to blood pressure checkups, and Antioch’s new police chief Tammany Brooks in the park encouraging young people to consider being part of a positive solution and serving in the community as an Antioch police officer for a great career choice.

There was also free hair cuts,  free food, and free bags of groceries given away along with games for the kids to play.  It was a good day for a community that does not always get the best press.

A big thanks go out to Genesis Church the city of Antioch and all the organizers and participants that were part of this successful peaceful Sycamore street community event.
