On March 1 at 12:32 am, Antioch Police Officers responded to the 911 call of a vehicle that had crashed through a fence at a residence on Elkhorn Way where it landed in a swimming pool and submerged with three occupants trapped inside.

Officers arrived and learned all three occupants (David Martinez 18 yrs; 16 yr old male & 17 yr old male) had exited the vehicle and climbed out of the pool. One 17 year old male was contacted at the scene but the other two occupants had fled the scene on foot. The 17 year old had minor injuries that were treated at the scene by Paramedics.

Approximately 25-minutes later Officers located two males walking on Lone Tree Way near the Antioch Community Center. Both males were soaking wet from head to toe. Evidence located at the crash site assisted Officers in determining that the two males were the two other occupants that had fled the scene after the crash.

David Martinez (18) was determined to be the driver of the vehicle and he was later booked into County Jail. Speed and alcohol are suspected as being factors and the case is still under investigation. None of the occupants of the damaged home, or surrounding neighbors, were injured during the incident.

Anyone with information related to this case is asked to call the Antioch PD non-emergency line at (925) 778-2441. They may also text an anonymous tip to 274637 (CRIMES) using the key word Antioch in the body of the text.

Editors Notes:

A Toyota Avalon was driving down Via Dora Dr. when it missed its turn onto Deerfield. Instead, it kept driving straight down a walking trail where it eventually went through a fence and ended up in a pool on Elkhorn Way.

Not mentioned in the Press Release was the two subjects located at the Antioch Community Center tried to fight with Antioch Police to try and get away.  This was also the second incident in a week where a vehilce ended up in an Antioch Pool.

That IS really funny since a friend of theirs posted it had just been repaired and refilled. Sorry I cannot believe that story.

What the article also fails to mention is that this is the second time in two weeks that this has happened to these homeowners….another drunk did the exact same thing a week earlier…..overshot the intersection and also put their car into their swimming pool….what are the chances….it’s amazing nobody died during either incident.

Where can I donate for the Large Rocks that need to be placed behind their backyard fence that will put a stop to this happening again.
