Antioch: Woman Arrested After Stabbing Another Woman Multiple Times

At 10:43 am Sunday, Antioch Police responded to a reported stabbing at the 1800 block of Cavallo Road near East 18th Street.

According to radio traffic, a woman was stabbed 7-times and walked into Romi’s Liquor seeking help. As first responders arrived on scene, they found the woman suffering from multiple stab wounds that were considered “serious” but non-life threatening.

Shortly after police arrived on scene, witnesses named the attacker as it appears she was known by the victim. They pointed police in the southbound direction of Cavallo towards Highway 4.

Minutes after the stabbing Dominica Wellridge, 30 of Antioch,  was located at Cavallo and Sunset where she was arrested and read her rights. She was taken away via ambulance due to a hand laceration. According to Antioch Police, she was arrested on multiple charges including attempted murder.

During the incident, it was also reported a young baby was left in an apartment alone. Police and neighbors assisted in caring for the baby

Lt. Morefield also stated the victim was released from the hospital Sunday.

The incident is currently under investigation and police have released no additional information or motive.
