The Antioch Police Department provided the public with a Press Release regarding yesterdays purse snatching incident at the 3300 Block of Contra Loma Blvd. where a 82-year-old woman was walking to church and was knocked to the ground as her purse was snatched.
The male responsible is described as a black male adult, 30-40 years old, 5’5” – 5’7”, thin, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. The responsible jumped into a nearby vehicle being driven by another unknown subject, no description available for the second suspect. The vehicle was described as a small light gray vehicle, possibly a two door. It was last seen traveling E/B on Longview Road from Contra Loma Boulevard.

Antioch police received a call of an elderly woman who had been robbed of her purse at the above location. When police arrived, they found the 82 year old woman near St Ignatius Church, where she was walking to when this robbery occurred.
The victim had a minor injury to her head as a result of the male suspect forcibly pulling the purse off her shoulder, and her falling to the ground. The victim was treated and released at a local hospital.
The male responsible is described as a black male adult, 30-40 years old, 5’5” – 5’7”, thin, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. The responsible jumped into a nearby vehicle being driven by another unknown subject, no description available for the second suspect. Pleas, Please, Please keep your eyes open! Lets find these dirt bags >;( They probably are living in our neighborhoods, right under our noses!!!
This is one of those cases which is symbolically too important to go unsolved. If these guys get away, we’re the city where little old ladies can’t even go to church safely. These guys have to be paraded in front of a camera all cuffed up and they have to get ugly sentences, too. If this doesn’t happen, this city has set a precedent about who can just roll up and prey on the weak. It’s an open invitation. What would make the difference? These guys would roll on anybody for a few bucks. Publicize the case, promise a reward, let Tipsoft do the rest. They have to be on camera in that area several times.
Nadia, could not have said it better myself. This is absolutely disgusting and to see that these pigs would commit this crime against the elderly. This case, coupled with the poor elderly man that DIED from the OSH parking lot robbery and beating further remind me of the ruthlessness of these criminals. I would hope that acts like these are not going unnoticed. APD, keep working hard. Can’t let these assholes win this battle.
