Antioch: Two Shot on Sycamore Drive Thursday Night

Antioch Police Officers were driving through the area when they heard several gunshots coming from the alleyway around 10:01 pm Thursday night.

The Officers worked their way through a large crowd of people to find two gunshot victims on the ground. One victim is a 24 year old male. The second victim is a 30 year old male. Both victims suffered non-life threatening gunshot injuries. They were both transported to area hospitals for treatment.

This incident is still under investigation. Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to contact the Antioch Police Dept. at (925)778-2441

Editors Note:

According to radio traffic, the shots came from the railroad tracks with two subjects taking off on foot towards the fairgrounds.  Both victims were shot in the leg.

Since June 27, a total of 12 people have been shot in the City of Antioch with one person dead.

  • July 3 – 3 people shot
  • June 28 – 8 people shot
  • June 27 – 1 person shot and killed.

its too damn obvious nothing has change especially in sycamore somehow someone will get a clue

This is getting ridiculous! A dozen people shot in a weeks time! Some new methods need to be tried to get this under control

If they were better shots it would lower our crime rate. Happy 4th. The Antioch parade was lovely and lots of people were out there! Peacefully.
