On July 26, an Antioch family came home to find their house had been burglarized in the 3800 block of Oakley Road Antioch. The victims contacted the Antioch Police Department in order to report the crime.

I am surprised that the Contra Costa D.A. filed any charges at all. His policy is usually just to release them without filing charges. He has effectively turned the local jails into a revolving door of ineffectiveness. He has repeatedly failed to support the local police who do their job by catching the perps and presenting the evidence to the D.A., who in turn refuses to file. Where is the justice for the citizens wronged in these cases, and where is the deterrence factor? There is none, and the criminals know this, so they go to jail, get released a couple of days later, and then do it all over again. Isn’t it about time this changed and that the D.A. be replaced by a law and order advocate. And that the County and State law be changed back to ensure that criminals are not allowed to continually repeat these violations against our citizens.
