On Tuesday, October 21, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to a residential structure fire on Golden Hills Court where three people were injured.

Firefighters arrived on scene and found the two-story home engulfed and immediately called a two-alarm fire which triggered assistance from the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District.

According to Steven Aubert, CONFIRE PIO, three people were treated in total where two were treated for smoke inhalation and another for anxiety. The home had an estimated $400,000 in damages and another $25,000 for items inside the home.

The fire started in the kitchen from cooking where it broke out just after 12:30 pm and was contained within 15-minutes. In the time, the first story was involved and the second story was burning.

The quick decision to go to a two-alarm response helped prevent damage to neighboring homes said Aubert.
