Antioch: Three Middle School Students Robbed at Gunpoint

by ECT

Antioch PD Badge

At roughly 3:30 pm Friday, three siblings were robbed at a bus-stop on Hillcrest Avenue in Antioch.

According to the youth’s mother, five teenagers approached her kids and showed what appeared to be a gun and demanded money. The youths handed over a combined $20.

The eldest victim knows one of the robbers and says he is a Deer Valley High School student.

One of the suspects was being held in Contra Costa County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of robbery while the other was given a citation and released. The Antioch Police Department is still looking for additional suspects.

Cited and released for participating in an armed robbery? Seems a little lenient to me. and by little i mean too lenient.

I agree. This sucks to hear about because I am a Deer Valley student also. It’s things like this that taught me to keep mostly to myself. And honestly, the kids probably got robbed so the teenagers could have some money for marijuana, which to me is pointless. Marijuana is still a drug, therefore it can ruin one’s life, forever.

This is awful! Children are robbing children……and for what? $20.00 in profit….. Come on parents lets step it up. Please teach your children some morals and values so, that they know their lives are worth more than money.

Cited and released? Antioch PD, what are you thinking. Are you going to wait until someone doesn’t give them and money and they shoot and kill them? Shame on you and I just voted for the 1/2 cent raise so you can get more policemen. Shame on you!

Sounds like our professional police officers are investigating the incident, you know obtaining facts! Let’s not be to Judgmental sense I’m sure we don’t know all the information or if all the people involved participated in the crime.

If Antioch would hold these kids parents more accountable for their actions this might not happen make them go to court and or classes with these kids maybe it might teach them both lessons. Remember kids learn this from home and if the parents don’t correct them there then they should be prosecuted these are their kids TAKE CARE OF THEM WETHE PUBLIC SHOULDN’T HAVE TO PAY FOR THEIR ACTIONS!!!!

One of the stories said that the sister came across one of the robbers in school again! That is just ridiculous! To me that is just grounds for the AUSD to be sued once again, or even the APD to be sued. Someone needs to take appropriate action and do something to the robbers!

If somebody was cited and released, there must be additional facts we are not getting from the story. The real issue here is that it happened at all, and that kids, or anybody in fact, have to be worried about being robbed. Its ridiculous. The robbers should be begging to be locked up so they don’t have to face their parents. This is just ridiculous.

Iris, the parents probably don’t give a sh** anyway. The kids are probably laughing and bragging about it

I have never heard of a robber and/or the associates in concert get a citation. I called BS. All of the actors need personal jail attention. Stop with the plea bargaining at the local police level. That’s the job for the DA. The scumbags who prey on others need to be dealt an example for others. Does this mean the Brentwood bank robber will get cited and released? Antioch, the new gunpoint of east county.
