Just before kick off of the Super Bowl on Sunday, an Antioch family was the victim of a hit-and-run accident on Sunflower Drive around 3:30 pm.

According to the resident, it occurred in the middle of the National Anthem when a brown Honda driven by a young white male wearing dark cloths crashed into a work truck. That is when the subject took off. It’s unknown if the vehicle had multiple subjects.

“It seems unbelievable that someone can cause such damage and run away with no remorse,” said the resident.

The resident said police showed up quickly and according to a witness the person looked injured from the crash.  The truck that was hit was a truck used for work purposes and the man is a contractor of a small company. This is a truck he needs to get from job to job and needs a vehicle in good working condition to operate his business.

If anyone has any information about this incident, please contact the Antioch Police Department.  You can also provide an anonymous tip by texting CRIMES (274637) with the keyword ANTIOCH, and get us the information that way as well.

If the truck was parked on the driveway…how are both sides damaged?

I guess you’ve never seen a truck rear ended before? They sandwich like that.

@ John,

I agree, but it does look like there is a big tire skid mark across the driveway. Strange.

OUCH! That really sucks. Should have at least stuck around to receive a proper beating.
