Antioch Speedway Announces 2014 Schedule

Oval Motorsports, Inc. has released the 2014 Antioch Speedway Schedule, featuring 24 Saturday nights of IMCA Modified Stock Car Racing, along with several special events throughout the season.

The track will host the “Civil War” of Sprint Cars on March 29, when the best of Northern California drivers will battle with Southern California drivers. Antioch Speedway again will host two IMCA NORCAL modified challenge events, the first being on May 10.

On June 21, the beginning of summer will be honored with the “Summer Spectacular” a big-money event for the All Star Wingless Sprint Cars and the DELTA modified stock cars.

The second of three  “Delta Series” open events for modified stock cars will be the “Firecracker 50” on July 5. The big “Delta Series” finale will take place on SEPTEMBER 27 and 28.. Also in July, the Gene Romero Flat Track Motorcycle racers will make their first appearance at Antioch Speedway.

August 9 will see the “Delta Hobby Stock Open” take place. Hobby Stocks will race 100 laps for $2000, and the IMCA SportMods will have a special $500 to win main event.

The World of Outlaws Sprint Cars will again be featured on Sunday, September 7.

The 2014 season will mark the first season that Late Model Stock Cars will be one of the regular divisions at the track. The powerful “Late Models” have nine events. The track’s Super Hobby Stock and Street Stock divisions are now combined as the Limited Late Model Division, and will be featured 15 times on the schedule.

Winged and wingless sprint cars will make regularly scheduled appearances at the 3/8-mile high banked oval throughout the season.

Hobby Stocks, one of the most popular divisions at the track, will see 20 events throughout the season. The four cylinder “Four-Banger” class and the motorcycle engine powered “Dwarf Cars” will each race 13 times.

Antioch Speedway will open for the 2014 season on February 15, when the first of three Saturday practice sessions takes place. March 15 will be the first show of the New Year.
