Antioch Shooting Leads to High Speed Police Chase

by ECT

A shooting occurred this morning in Antioch on the 4500 block of Pampas Ct. which led Antioch Police and other departments into a high speed pursuit of a suspect in a white vehicle.

The suspect fled towards Brentwood and ended up flying onto Highway 4 which resulted in Brentwood Police and Contra Costa County Sheriff joining the pursuit.

The California Highway Patrol also was called as the suspect fled in and out of traffic trying to knock cars off the road. Ultimately he made a left onto Marsh Creek Road and then Sellers before heading out past Discovery Bay where authorities tried to raise the bridge, but it was too late.

About an hour into the chase, Antioch and Brentwood units pulled back as the suspect entered into Stockton and headed towards Highway 99.

As of 11:09 am, the pursuit is still on going. Check back for details.

As you know, I was at March Creek and Walnut when the suspect almost went head on with me and then was pursued by a Brentwood PD detective. The detective was later joined by additional units at Hwy4 and Discovery Bay blvd. They pursed the suspect on Hwy4 East Bound towards Stockton at high speeds. Suspect vehicle was seen passing on both the left and right shoulders during the pursuit. I attempted to get some photos, but due to the wild speeds and reckless disregard for other motorists, I was unable to.

Don’t forget that Antioch and Brentwoods finest were also putting civilians lives in jeopardy with their reckless driving too. Unmarked cars coming into on oncoming traffic with no lights on almost knocking people off the road. But they are above the law.
