On Tuesday, the Antioch City Council will consider adopting a resolution that will execute a construction grant for the amount of $31,835 for the Marina Kayak Launching Facility.
The grant comes from the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG), San Francisco Bay Area Water Trail Grant Program.
The move comes after a June 2016 meeting where ABAG approved the Antioch Marina to be designated as an official site of the San Francisco Bay Area Water Trail—allowing the site to receive funds for water access for non-motorized water crafts, such as kayaks and canoes.
Antioch City Staff submitted grant applications to ABAG for two public watercraft launches to be placed on Marina grounds—modular plastic floats affixed to existing Marina structure which includes hand rails for ease of launching.

I think this would be great! I am an avid Kayaker and feel many would use it! We should take advantage of our beautiful delta!
