Antioch Set to Hold Sessions to Talk City’s Brand

by ECT

The City of Antioch is set to host multiple listening sessions across the City to talk about the City of Antioch’s brand. The only problem, they failed to properly tell the public, or its own Council.

The events were announced Thursday morning on Facebook with the first event schedule for Friday–only two people had signed up for Friday’s session.   When asked to comment about the sessions, two of the Antioch City Councilpersons were unaware of the events even occurring.

Mayor Sean Wright, who was also unaware of the series, said the sessions were to get as many opinions as they could get to help them either create a brand or confirm they already have a brand and was simply part of their overall process to move forward with a branding and marking campaign.

City Manager Ron Bernal said Lizeht Zepeda would be releasing more information on the series via a press release, however, as of Friday morning, nothing was released.

The dates and times include three sessions on election day:

  • June 1: Somersville Towne Center (10:00 am to 6:00 pm) in the Main Courtyard.
  • June 5: Nick Rodriguez Community Center (10:00 am to 11:30 am)
  • June 5: Nick Rodriguez Community Center (2:00 pm to 2:30 pm)
  • June 5: Nick Rodriquez Community Center (7:00 pm to 8:30 pm)
  • June 7: Antioch Community Center (1:00 pm to 2:30 pm)

According to the City, they want to hear from the public regarding the following:

– What do you love about Antioch?
– What should people know about Antioch?
– Why should people visit Antioch?
– Why should they move here, or start a business here?

No wonder this city s the shithole that it is. The first paragraph says everything you need to know about these stupid asses running this city.

– What do you love about Antioch?

The murders, robberies, burgleries, section 8, sycamore, Romis

– What should people know about Antioch?

That this city is a toiletbowl and ran by a bunch of baffoons

– Why should people visit Antioch?

To see the needle infested parks, trash filled streets, red light running, groups of grown adults hanging in front of liquor stores

– Why should they move here, or start a business here?

I pissed my pants a little from laughing trying to answer this one

Starting a business here ? Are you serious? Jun 1, 2018 - 6:19 am

There is a reason why there are entire shopping centers that are empty here, and its only getting worse. Most people go into Pittsburg or Brentwood to shop and eat, its less of a chance to get robbed or approached by some loser asking for money. Downtown Antioch will never thrive again either, the city can discount rents all the want, that wont bring customers. This article really is a prime example of how the City is ran and how out of touch people are.

Before you ask the citizens of Antioch what they think of the city. You should maybe do something positive to improve our city. Like spending money to revamp the Downtown area. Or maybe replace the dead plants in the medians on Lone Tree Rd. Take pride in you job and do something positive to improve our city

1. What do you love about Antioch? I know longer live there!

2. What should people know about Antioch? Don’t move there if you care about your safety.

3. Why should people visit Antioch? You shouldn’t unless your passing through on your way to Brentwood.

4. Why should you move here, or start a business? If your a glutton for punishment you will love Antioch.

?????????

That guy Jun 2, 2018 - 4:04 am

Sean wright is worthless. Doesn’t even know his city is aving group ‘sessions’. Supprised mayor Wright isn’t charging us to take our opinions…he’s that kind of guy.

What’s the best “Brand” for Antioch? Moving to a safer city!!!

Bernal and his staff are the problem. They ALL need more supervision than they get.
YES we don’t water anything in Antioch that is why LoneTreeWay looks like a huge weed patch on the sides and medians. Brentwood does take care and Antioch never has.
